Legislave Update, May 2008
Commission staff will update the Committee on recent legislative developments. Staff will discuss and recommend positions on bills pending in the State Legislature. Since the March 25–26 Commis¬sion meeting, both the Assembly and the Senate held hearings that have resulted in amendments to legislation. Staff will summarize these changes and update their recommendations.

May Revision to the Proposed 2008–09 State Budget: Summary
This document summarizes the revision of the Governor’s proposed 2008-09 state budget, as released on Wednesday, May 14. Each year the Governor amends the January budget proposal in mid-May, taking into account changes in state revenues and anticipated expenditures. This item presents higher education budget highlights and a summary of state finances to date.
