The following links provide information and resources to students and parents.

Student Right-to-Know

In compliance with Department of Education's Student Right-to-Know Act, all colleges and universities receiving Title IV funds are required to report various points of information to students, employees and prospective students.

The Student Right-to-Know Act requires an institution that participates in any federal student financial assistance program to disclose information about graduation or completion rates to current and prospective students. In addition, institutions that also award athletically related student aid must also provide data on institution's student population, and the graduation or completion rates of student-athletes.

Jeanne Clery Act (Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990)

Campus security and safety is an important factor of postsecondary education. The Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990 is a federal law that requires colleges and universities to disclose information about campus crime and security policies. Colleges and universities that are eligible to receive Title IV funding must publish an annual report by October 1. The report must contain three years of crime statistics in various categories:
  • Criminal Homicide
    • Murder and non-negligent manslaughter
    • Negligent manslaughter
  • Sex offenses
    • Forcible sex offenses
    • Non-forcible sex offenses
  • Robbery
  • Aggravated assault
  • Burglary
  • Motor vehicle theft
  • Arson
Institutions must report crime location by four areas:
  • On campus
  • Residence on campus
  • Non-campus building or property
  • Public property
They are further broken down as Criminal offenses and Hate Crime offenses.

Data about Arrests are also available for:

  • Liquor law violations
  • Drug law violations
  • Illegal weapons possessions
Note:
Statistics represent alleged criminal offenses reported to campus security authorities or local police agencies. The data does not necessarily reflect prosecutions or convictions. Additionally, the data has not been subjected to independent verification.

Crime data for a particular institution can be accessed via the CPEC College Guide or through the Crime Statistics Useful Links. All Title IV institutions have links to the Department of Education's Crime data.
