Odessa P. Johnson

Odessa P. Johnson is no longer a member of the Commission. The biography supplied below dates from his or her Commission membership.


Odessa P. Johnson Odessa P. Johnson was appointed on July 1, 2004, as the alternate representative to the Commission by the Regents of the University of California and serves at the pleasure of the Board of Regents. Ms. Johnson was first appointed to the Commission on July 3, 2001. Her term expired on June 30, 2008.

Ms. Johnson is the Dean Emerita of Community Education at Modesto Junior College and a member of the Modesto City Schools Board of Education.

Ms. Johnson has served as Assistant Dean of Education at Modesto Junior College and previously was a counselor, career center specialist, instructor, and director of community education. She has over 25 years experience in community college education, particularly in the area of life-long learning.
