Ruth Bloom
Ruth Bloom is no longer a member of the Commission. The biography supplied below dates from his or her Commission membership.
Ruth Bloom was appointed on March 6, 2007 as the alternate representative to the Commission by the State Board of Education and serves at the pleasure of the State Board of Education. She is currently serving as Vice President of the State Board of Education. Her term expired on March 12, 2008.
Ms. Bloom's lifelong concerns have been in education and the arts.

- Chair and Founder, Photography Acquisition Committee; and Teach for America
- Advisory Board Member, CineVegas Film Festival and the Boise Art Museum
- Former public school teacher, arts educator, and arts advocate for over 30 years
- Developed and taught courses on contemporary art history at the college level and has been a parenting specialist
- Collector, a former gallerist, and has helped develop major collections for many corporations and private collectors
