Charlene Zettel

Charlene Zettel

Charlene Zettel was appointed by the Board of Regents of the University of California on July 1, 2010 as the representative to the Commission and serves at the pleasure of the Board of Regents of the University of California. She was previously the alternate Commissioner on July 1, 2009. She was appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger in 2009 to the Board of Regents of the University of California.

Ms. Zettel was former Director of the San Diego Office of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. She served as the Director of the Department of Consumer Affairs from 2004-2007 and elected to the Poway Unified School District Board of Education. She was twice elected to the California State Assembly. In the State Assembly, she served as chair of the Republican Caucus, vice chair of the Assembly Committee on Jobs, Economic Development and the Economy, and a member of the Appropriations, Education, Health, Rules, Transportation and Governmental Organization committees. She was appointed by President George Bush as public interest director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco.
