William H. Graves, Ph.D.The information in this biography was supplied by the subject.Dr. William H. Graves is Founder and Chairman of Eduprise. Billís expertise and perspective derive from over 30 years of experience in higher education and from the trust that colleges and universities now place in him as their business partner. He is considered one of the foremost authorities on the role of the Internet in teaching and learning. In that role, he has given hundreds of presentations, published more than 50 articles on all aspects of information technology in higher education, and advised hundreds of institutions.
Graves is a member of the board of directors of Eduprise, COLLEGIS, EDUCAUSE, and the Instructional Management Systems Global Learning Consortium. He was a cofounder of EDUCAUSEís National Learning Infrastructure Initiative (NLII) and continues to chair the NLII planning committee. He also was one of the founders of the University Corporation for Advanced Internet Development and its Internet2 project.
Bill earned his doctorate at Indiana University and is Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There he served in a number of other capacities, including dean for general education, interim vice chancellor for academic affairs, senior information technology officer, and founder and director of the Institute for Academic Technology (IAT), a prominent educational technology think tank and demonstration center. He and his IAT colleagues left the university in 1997 to start Eduprise, a platform-independent e-learning services company that helps educational organizations develop and implement an enterprise e-learning strategy.
