Initiative #1: Addressing the Achievement Gap in Middle Schools

Grant proposals for Initiative #1 are limited to projects that help middle school teachers address achievement gaps among their students. Successful applicants will develop an approach to serving teachers that includes at least one whole department within the school or schools they are serving.

Addressing the Achievement Gap in Middle Schools Request for Proposals

If you are interested in submitting a proposal under the Achievement Gap Initiative, you must submit a Notice of Intent to be received at the Commissionís offices no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2009.

Application materials are now available below. Proposals are due Thursday, May 28, 2009, by 5 p.m. (see Application Instructions for details).

If you are interested in applying, you must first check the eligibility of your LEA partner also learn more about what constitutes an eligible partnership.

If you were unable to attend one of our Technical Assistance Workshops, it is highly recommended that you listen to the archived audio footage and review the associated materials .
