Improving Teacher Quality 2010 Request for Proposals
Initiative #2: Teacher-Based Reform (T-BAR), Phase II
This initiative is intended to provide funding for up to two master grantee institutions of higher education
(IHEs) that will be responsible for managing the Teacher-Based Academic Reform (T-BAR) pilot program.
For the 2010 T-BAR Phase II competition, the Commission intends to fund one master grantee in each of the
following two regions:

The South (Orange, Riverside, San Diego, Imperial counties).

Inland (Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, El Dorado, Fresno, Glenn, Inyo,
Kern, Kings, Lassen, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Modoc, Mono, Nevada, Placer,
Plumas, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Joaquin, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou,
Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Tulare, Tuolumne, and Yuba).

If you are interested in submitting a proposal under the T-BAR Initiative, you must submit a
Notice of Intent
to be received at the Commission’s offices no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2010.
It is highly recommended that proposers listen to audio footage from our
Technical Assistance Workshops.
