Improving Teacher Quality 2011 Request for Proposals

The Commission's California Common Core Standards Grant Initiative

This year's competition asks for professional development proposals that help teachers understand and strengthen their content knowledge in preparation for and implementation of the Common Core State Standards in Mathematics (CaCCSS-M) or Common Core State Standards in English Language Arts & Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science, and Technical Subjects (CaCCSS-ELA), each with California additions, adopted by the California State Board of Education on August 2, 2010.

If you are interested in submitting a proposal under the open initiative, you must submit a Notice of Intent to be received at the Commission's offices no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2011.

Rubric for Evaluating the 2011 Proposals - The rubric is designed as a tool to organize the reviewers' thoughts about each proposal and to guide discussion in their panel sessions. At the end of the competition, panel comments will be provided to proposers upon written request. Scoring information and the names of the readers will not be provided.
