110Goals:
- Increase the knowledge and skills of teachers through practical inquiry and evidence-based collaboration
- Help teachers generate and incorporate effective support strategies for students, especially in the area of academic language
- Institutionalize a culture of collaboration that is focused on the learning needs of students rather than on issues of pacing and content
Activities:
Primary activities will consist of:- summer school intervention classes that simultaneously serves as learning environments for teachers to try out new practices developed each day during collaborative planning time immediately following their teaching
- Sustained collaboration between math and language arts teachers throughout the year that are facilitated by teacher leaders
- professional development for teacher leaders and principals to foster school-wide collaboration
Anticipated Outcomes:
Anticipates improved student achievement and increased knowledge for teaching, as well as changes in teachers' beliefs and practices.Contacts:
