Discipline_Code Character (ASCII) 6 6 Yes Code identifying the detailed Classification of Instructional Program (CIP). The same as the CIP Code without the period.
Discipline_Title Character (ASCII) 120 120 Yes The detailed Classification of Instructional Program (CIP).
Digit2_Discipline Character (ASCII) 2 2 Yes The 2-digit Classification of Instructional Program (CIP) code used to identify the general description of a discipline.
Digit4_Discipline Character (ASCII) 4 4 Yes The 4-digit Classification of Instructional Program (CIP) code used to identify the focused general description of a discipline.
New_Flag Bit 1 1 No Flag to indicate whether the Classification of Instructional Program (CIP) Code is a new value in the last update.
Deleted_Flag Bit 1 1 No Flag to indicate that the Classification of Instructional Program (CIP) is no longer being used.
STEM Character (ASCII) 2 2 Yes Code identifying the science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) category of a program.
CTE_Flag Bit 1 1 Yes Flag to indicate whether the program classifies as career technical education (CTE).

First_Professional_Flag Bit 1 1 Yes Flag to indicate whether the degree type is considered first professional.
Valid_for_UC Bit 1 1 Yes Flag to indicate whether the data value is valid for the University of California System.
Valid_for_CSU Bit 1 1 Yes Flag to indicate whether the data value is valid for the California State University System.
Valid_for_CCC Bit 1 1 Yes Flag to indicate whether the data value is valid for the Community College System.
Valid_for_OthPub Bit 1 1 Yes Flag to indicate whether the data value is valid for the other public colleges and universities.
Valid_for_Indep Bit 1 1 Yes Flag to indicate whether the data value is valid for the members of the Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities.
Valid_for_OutOfState Bit 1 1 Yes Flag to indicate whether the data value is valid for out-of-state institutions.
Sorted_Degree Character (ASCII) 1 1 Yes Sort order for degree types.
IPEDS_Degree_Type Character (ASCII) 2 2 Yes Code used by the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) to identify a degree type.
Profiles_Sort Character (ASCII) 1 1 Yes Sort order for degree types for use in the educational and demographic profiles.
Profiles_Title Character (ASCII) 50 50 Yes The title of a degree type without special characters for use in the educational and demographic profiles..
Degree_Comment Memo (ASCII)   16 Yes A comment field used by Commission staff to document changes to degree types over the years.
