Custom Data Reports

Fully customize data reports -- select which columns or fields to include and specify the filters so that you get only the data you need. The data reports are generated from the database for each request so it will always be the most up-to-date data that the Commission has. Each of the reports has a different timeframe for the data available. View a table showing this information.

How These Data Are Gathered

Enrollment and Degrees Awarded at Public Colleges and Universities
The University of California, the California State University, and the California Community Colleges system offices submit a record for each student enrolled and for each degree or certificate completed. The Commission aggregates these data to generate the number of first-time freshmen, the number transferred, the enrollments by level and discipline, and the degrees awarded. The record includes a code to identify the high school or institution last attended which is used to match schools for the First-Time Freshmen and Transfer reports.

Enrollment and Degrees Awarded at Private Colleges and Universities
The Commission collects data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) at the U.S. Department of Education. The information at IPEDS does not include transfers from community colleges or first-time freshmen. These data are gathered using a separate, voluntary reporting system. Public and Private High School Graduates, Public and Private K-12 Enrollment, Other Public High School Data
The Commission collects the data from the California Department of Education.
