Report 07-13: Program Planning and Review to Promote Responsiveness to Public Needs, 2006-07

State law directs the California Post-secondary Education Commission to review and comment on new degree and certificate programs proposed by the public higher education systems. This annual report provides a summary of program planning and review activities conducted by the Commission during the 2006-07 academic year. During this reporting period Commission staff (1) conducted an extensive review of a UC law school proposal; (2) reviewed seven CSU proposals for doctoral programs in educational leadership; (3) reviewed six additional UC graduate proposals; and (4) convened an advisory committee to consider recommendations for enhancing the Commissionís program review guidelines, principles, and procedures. Other program review activities are also summarized.
