This report provides community college enrollment demand projections and physical capacity analyses for the period, fall 2009 to fall 2019. The Mid-Range Forecast indicates that that the state should prepare for 313,000 additional community college students by 2019 if adequate enrollment growth funding is provided. If the state is unable to provide the necessary funding, as many as 365,000 prospective students might be denied access to a community college education by fall 2010. Approximately 80% of the community college districts are facing capacity pressures, in that they are serving more full-time equivalent students (FTES) than recommended by state classroom utilization standards.
