Published by The California Postsecondary Education CommissionMarch 1992View Full Publication
This report contains statistical information on the financing of California's public higher education institutions, along with some data on public elementary and secondary education finance and independent higher education in California. Most of its 67 displays update information presented in the Commission's October 1990 publication, Fiscal Profiles 1990, but this edition contains several new displays that present trend data in terms of constant dollars and that compare growth in the State's population and overall General Fund appropriations with enrollment and funding growth for the public higher education systems. The major elements of higher education finance covered here include funding for ongoing operations of the three public higher education systems, categories of expenditures , student fee and tuition levels, total revenues generated by student charges, State student financial aid, capital outlay appropriations, and per-capita spending for education. The Commission discussed this report at its meetings of March 30 and June 1, 1992.
