Report 94-13: Faculty Salaries in California's Community Colleges, 1993-94: A Report to the Legislature and Governor in Response to Supplemental Language for the 1979 Budget Act
Published by The California Postsecondary Education CommissionAugust 1994View Full Publication
This is the Commission's latest document in its annual series of reports to the Governor and the Legislature on faculty salaries in the California Community Colleges that the Commission has produced since 1979. It indicates that cost-of-living adjustments in the 1993-94 year probably averaged between 1.0 and 1.5 percent statewide and that the mean salary for full-time faculty -- currently estimated at $50,546 -- changed very little. This report contains nine displays -- plus several additional ones in the appendix -- that show district-by-district salaries and cost-of-living adjustments, the number of faculty in each district, differences between high- and low-paying districts, compensation for part-time faculty, and samples of typical community college salary schedules. Following historical tradition, the report contains neither conclusions nor recommendations, since it is intended only to provide specific information on faculty compensation in the two-year system. The Commission voted to adopt this report at its meeting on August 29, 1994, on recommendation of its Fiscal Policy and Analysis Committee.
