Report 98-6: The Condition of Higher Education in California, 1998
Published by The California Postsecondary Education CommissionDecember 1998
This report, The Condition of Higher Education in California, contains a composite picture of students, academic programs, and finances in California's public colleges and universities, including demographic data, fee and financial aid information, graduation rates, and revenue and expenditure data about students enrolled at each of the State's nine University of California campuses, its 22 State University campuses, and its 106 community college campuses. The report also profiles the missions of the State's higher education systems and their general characteristics. Because California also relies heavily on private and independent colleges and universities to educate its citizens, information related to those sectors is included as well.
