County College-Going Rate (CGR) Map - 2008

This map shows college-going rates for public, comprehensive high schools for counties in California. College-going rates were calculated by dividing the number of entering freshmen aged 19 and younger from public high schools in the county by the total number of graduates from public high schools in the county. Only public comprehensive high schools with at least 50 graduates are shown.

Data regarding high school graduates were obtained from the California Department of Education. Data for freshmen enrollment were obtained from each of the public and private segments and includes all students -- full-time, part-time, credit, and non-credit.

Note that the calculation of these rates is based on totals for each category such as year and county. Rates do not entail longitudinal tracking of individual students.
