County College-Going Rate (CGR) Map - 2009
This map shows college-going rates (recent high school graduates entering a California public institutions of higher learning)
for public, comprehensive high schools for counties in California.
College-going rates were calculated by dividing the number of entering students from
public high schools in the county by the total number of graduates from public high schools in the county.
Only public comprehensive high schools with at least 50 graduates are shown.
Data regarding high school graduates were obtained from the California Department of Education.
Data for higher education enrollment were obtained from each of the public segments and
includes all students -- full-time, part-time, credit, and non-credit.
Note that the calculation of these rates is based on totals for each category such as year and county.
Rates do not entail longitudinal tracking of individual students. County borders are approximate.
