Action on this item will permit the new officers to assume their responsibilities on January 1, 2005.

This report reviews a proposal by the  Santa Clarita Community College District to establish an education center in the community of Canyon County.  This new off-campus facility will be known as the Canyon County Education Center and is intended to enhance access for students residing in the northwest portion of Los Angeles County.  Presenter: Stacy Wilson.

At its September 8 meeting, the Commission adopted the report entitled Prospectus: Developing a Framework for Accountability in California’s Higher Education System. This summary includes a presentation by the Public Law Research Institute at the Hastings College of the Law on higher education accountability systems in other states. Faculty Salaries at California Public Universities, 2005-06

The Commission reports annually on the lag between the salaries paid to faculty at the California State University and the University of California and those projected to be paid at each system’s group of comparison institutions. This report will be presented as a Higher Education Update for discussion at the March 2005 meeting. As of the time of printing of this agenda, data from all of the comparison institutions have not been received. Staff will present an oral progress report. Presenter: Marge Chisholm.
