NOTICE OF IMPENDING CLOSURE

Funding for CPEC has been eliminated from the 2011-12 state budget; as a result, the agency will close in fall 2011. The website will move to the Community College Chancellor's Office on Friday, 9/23/2011. It will be down over the weekend. It is not known what sections of the website will be available in the future.

The Commission website is updated frequently to improve service and provide more information. These release notes document these changes.

Updates and known problems in the data available on the website are further documented in the Caveats section of the main CPEC website.

August 31, 2010 - Educational Attainment on Mobile Website
An Educational Attainment page is now available to show the value of staying in school and earning a degree. Special thanks to the good folks in the Labor Market Information Division (LMID) of EDD for generating the raw data for us.

August 11, 2010 - County Stats on Mobile Website
A County Stats web page has been added to the mobile website. Available information includes population, median household income, educational attainment, projected growth, college-going rate, a list of colleges and a list of comprehensive public high schools.

August 5, 2010 - Reorganize Mobile Website
The CPEC Mobile Website layout was reorganized to make room for additional information. The Contact Us page and the link to the CPEC Main Website have been moved to the footer.

August 5, 2010 - Programs on Mobile Website
A new Programs page is now available through the mobile website home page. It allows the user to drill down through categories to programs and displays possible occupations and institutions that offer a particular program. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programs are available as an option under categories.

August 2, 2010 - Glossary on Mobile Website
The Glossary is now available through the footer of all web pages on the mobile website. Terms and descriptions are categorized and identical to the main Commission website.

July 29, 2010 - Commissioner Members / Biographies on Mobile Website
The composition of the Commission section of the About Us page now has a link to the Commissioners page and their biographies.

July 26, 2010 - New College Search features on Mobile Website
Users can now search by zip code or their current location on the College Guide section of the Mobile website. A zip code can be entered in the institution name field and the ten closest colleges will be shown. The seach can also be filtered by the "type of institution" field.

iPhone, Android and certain Blackberry mobile users will now see a button that will select the ten nearest institutions from their current location. Again, the seach can be filtered by the "type of institution" field.

July 1, 2010 - Crime stats in College Guide
The College Guide section of the Mobile website now shows three years of crime statistics for each college or university campus. The data are available for Title IV institutions that offer financial aid. Click the Crime Stats link above the Campus Description on an institution page (for example: UC Davis). See UC Davis Crime Stats as an example of a college with data for two campuses.
